Applications are open for the Austrian VCDNP Internship Program 2024. All international students may apply for a paid VCDNP internship in Austria in 2024 or 2025.

- The Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (VCDNP), a global NGO with offices in Vienna, Austria, is seeking candidates with graduate degrees, preferably in fields related to nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament, such as international relations, politics, chemistry, biology, or engineering.
- The goal of the Centre is to conduct research, educational initiatives, and training programs on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation while fostering meaningful debate on these topics among national governments, international organizations, and civil society.
- The James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS) of the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, USA, is in charge of running the VCDNP.

VCDNP Internship Financial Benefits
Austria’s VCDNP Internship Program 2024 is an entirely free program. It will pay for the subsequent costs:
- Interns will get a stipend of 1,000 euros monthly
- The stipend will cover the following relocation expenses:
- In the case of a remote internship, a small amount is offered based on the location.
- Communication and presentation skills will be developed.
- Able to contribute their part in maintaining peace and stability around the globe.
About VCDNP Internship
For its internship program in the fall of 2024, VCDNP is accepting applications, with a particular emphasis on those from developing nations.
There is a six-month maximum for the internship. The personal internship that VCDNP plans to complete is in Vienna, Austria.

- Updated Resume or CV
- Visa for Austria.
- Writing sample in English (no more than 5 pages).
- Two Letters of Recommendation.
Responsibilities and Obligations
During the internship, the intern will have to do the following responsibilities:
- Might have Developed and implemented a research project on nuclear non-proliferation or disarmament under the supervision of VCDNP researchers.
- Participate in VCDNP program activities, including lectures, seminars, courses, and conferences organized by VCDNP;
- Collaborate with senior VCDNP experts on ongoing research projects.
- In Vienna, I had the opportunity to speak with experts from the IAEA, CTBTO and other international organizations, as well as representatives of national governments and educational institutions.
- Assistance with administrative tasks and events;
- Perform other related duties as requested.
Eligibility Criteria
- Have a strong interest in nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation issues
- Experience in conducting research projects and/or organizing events is desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of other software as well as social media and graphic design skills are assets
- Possess strong writing skills and excellent command of the English language; knowledge of other languages is an asset
- Familiarity with virtual meeting software such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams is desirable
