This programme is a targeted effort not only to support the increased representation of women and gender non-conforming people in public office across the ideological spectrum, but also to ensure that numerical representation translates into influence that empowers women to be active participants in leadership and governance.

Who Can Apply For This Programme?
To be eligible for the Women in Public Office: South Africa Programme you must:
- Be an elected public representative seeking re-election in 2024 or a new candidate planning to run for public office in the upcoming 2024 general elections in South Africa.
- Be a proven and ethical leader in your chosen profession, educational institution, community and society;
- Reside in South Africa and be eligible to contest for office in the 2024 national and provincial elections;
- be aged between 18-45, although applicants slightly outside this age-range will also be considered.
